The Veletech exhibition was held on the 28th of April at the Millenáris. We represented the Óbuda University Biotech Laboratory with our two Android applications. We started the stand construction at 7:30 and at 10 o’clock everything was ready for the guests. The first guests seemed to be a bit shy, but soon they started asking questions. Many were surprised to find a university amongst the exhibitors, but one of the proficient Veletech guests remembered us and was curious about our current novelties.

Last year we introduced the DroidHub application to the audience, which enables medical patient monitoring and tracking of parameters like blood pressure, weight, pulse, ECG. The application is still under development, the introduced version was the result of the last two years.

Our current novelty was the RealTAct application. The application enables medical parameter monitoring of team members (sportsmen, soldiers). With the help of this application a coach or a team medic may track the pulse, respiratory rate, acceleration and other data of the group members. The server-side infrastructure is provided by DrHealth (developed also by the Biotech Lab). The data can be simply queried in a browser.

Apart from the applications and sensors, the people were also interested in the education of the Óbuda University. The BSc and MSc members of the Biotech Lab were able to provide sufficient answers for these questions as well.

By the end of the day only the most fanatical audience remained, and tried to gather some extra knowledge. At 18 o’clock the hall became empty fast, and the exhibitors packed up faster than they were constructing in the morning. We were proud to be represented along with Sony, Samsung, Huawei, HTC and Microsoft. We hope to be there next year as well!
