Mathematical model-based decision support system to improve diabetes healthcare services

Aim of the project:

The aim of the system to be developed is to plan and implement a mathematical model-based decision support system for healthcare services. The system, named DIALOGIC, would support diabetes treatment, and also potentially the treatment of other lingering illnesses. Our vision is an integrated system, which greatly enhances the efficiency of diabetes treatment, by handling both the order entry and the available resources in a uniformed environment. Equipment capacity represents the bottleneck of the service provided for the patients, since the appointment times for the equipment are static, the current system in practice only means equipment reservation. If a condition changes (the patient gets fever, or needs more frequent treatment), in other words if the data should be organized dynamically, then the current system would not be able to handle the variation. The aim of the current development is to solve this problem and create a dynamic system.
