MedAR Medical Augmented Reality

Nowadays having cameras on a computer can betaken for granted and we leverage this simple fact to deliver stateof the art solution for medical imaging. The aim of the articleis illustrating a new method by developing an augmented realityapplication which is able to reconstruct 3D view of a presentedmedical image i.e. DICOM and by using a target image inputvia the camera. This methodology can help physicians to have anew perspective on their patients condition, illness that is beingtreated and also a new communication method. The software hasminimal hardware and software dependency requirement, withan easy to use GUI. The simplicity, applicability and the factthat it can be used without complex hardware systems makes itunique and promising in the medical field.
